Synopsis

The role of a hyperdispersant in modern industrial coatings is crucial to the development of a robust, high-performance coating or tinter system. In the design of hyperdispersants many factors are taken into consideration so as to maximise performance. In addition to these design parameters, other factors now need to be considered, including solvent choice, handleability and sustainability. These additional factors, whilst presenting additional difficulty, are not insurmountable, and this will be illustrated by using examples of recently-introduced dispersants.
